Keyboard Shortcuts
Left and right arrow keys step through passes, skipping dead and locked ones, and Escape closes whatever drawer or panel is open. Zoom is scroll, pinch, or the on-map buttons, not the keyboard.
What do the arrow keys do?
Left and right step through the current region's timeline (older and newer respectively), automatically skipping over any pass with no usable data and, if your plan doesn't cover it, any locked pass. So one press can jump straight past several hours of nothing to the next real reading. See using the timeline for how the timeline itself is ordered.

Why don't the arrow keys pan the map?
Chlorofishy deliberately reassigns arrow keys to the timeline instead of the map itself, so they always step through passes no matter what's focused, with one exception: they're skipped while you're actively typing in a text field, so typing doesn't accidentally jump the timeline. To pan, drag the map; to zoom, use your scroll wheel, pinch on a touch device, or the zoom buttons in the top-right on wider screens; there is no keyboard zoom shortcut.
What doesn't Escape close?
Escape doesn't dismiss a pinned click readout or exit alert-drawing mode; use the on-screen cancel control for those. See reading the map for how the click readout works, or pricing for what your plan unlocks while you're browsing passes.
