Using Chlorofishy on Mobile

On a touch device, tap pins a readout where hovering would on desktop, zoom and compass buttons are hidden below 640px in favor of pinch-to-zoom, and there's no offline mode: the map needs a live connection.

How do I read a value without a mouse?

Tap anywhere on the colored ocean to pin a readout popup at that point, the same one hovering shows on desktop. There's no hover state on a touchscreen, so tapping is the only way to read a value. See reading the map for what the readout actually shows.

Where did the zoom and compass buttons go?

On screens narrower than 640px, the on-map zoom and compass buttons are hidden to keep the layer controls from getting crowded; pinch-to-zoom and drag-to-pan work exactly as you'd expect without them. The scale bar in the corner stays visible at every width.

How do I check how fresh the data is?

Open the account menu → Data sources, where a "View provenance" button shows an "Updated" freshness chip. This is the same freshness surface on every screen size: on a narrow screen the provenance panel itself opens as a full-screen overlay instead of a side panel, but the information is identical.

Does Chlorofishy work offline?

No. There's no offline mode. If your connection drops, tiles simply stop loading; there's no cached map to fall back on. See troubleshooting for what a stuck load looks like and what to do about it.

Can I set up an alert from my phone?

Drawing a new alert rectangle currently needs a click-and-drag mouse gesture, so it works reliably on a laptop or desktop but not from a touchscreen.
