Signing In
Sign in with Google, a magic link sent to your email, or an email and password. Magic-link and email accounts get an optional one-time step to set a password, so you don't have to check your inbox every time.
What sign-in methods are available?
Three: sign in with your Google account, request a magic link emailed to you (the default option), or use an email and password if you've set one. There's no Sign in with Apple option currently; Google and email are the two paths in.
Why does it ask me to set a password?
If you signed up with a magic link, your account has no password yet. The first time you sign in that way, you'll be offered a one-time screen to set one, so future sign-ins don't require checking your email each time. Signing in with Google never prompts for this, since Google is handling authentication for you.
What if I forget my password?
Use the "forgot password" link on the password sign-in screen to get a reset link by email. You can also always fall back to signing in with a magic link instead; you're never locked out by a forgotten password.
Do I have to sign in to use the map?
No, you can browse as a guest with no account. See what's free and what's paid for what a guest sees compared to a signed-in account, or pricing for what a subscription adds.
