Composite
A composite is a single, blended picture of the ocean built once a day by combining several satellite passes into one gap-free analysis. Chlorofishy's SST composite is NASA's GHRSST MUR Level 4 product; the chlorophyll composite is a VIIRS Level-3 daily product.
The tradeoff for complete coverage is age: Chlorofishy's SST composite runs on a measured ~34-hour publish lag, and, in areas no pass could see, a modeled estimate rather than a direct reading. Full explanation: raw pass vs. composite SST and is cloud-free SST real or interpolated.
