Temperature Break
A temperature break is a sharp boundary where two water masses of different temperature meet. On an SST chart, it shows up as several color bands packed into a small distance instead of a smooth gradient.
Breaks matter because bait and predators concentrate along the seam itself, not on either side of it. Full explanation: what is a temperature break in fishing, and the map workflow at finding temperature breaks.
